Can I setup a Category Sequence?

You can always set up your schedule based on a category sequence. This is an advanced option we offer, which you can access through your Settings.

Once you’re in the Settings page, you can activate the Category Sequence option, by clicking the toggle next to it. Then, you'll find the setup page in your Posting Menu, where you will have the option to do this for every connected social profile.

Here’s how this feature works. You can set up an order by setting up a sequence for your categories. So, if, for instance, you want to share from your Promotional, Curated, Blogs from RSS and Quotes, Questions, and Fun categories, multiple times, but without establishing an exact pattern for them, as you would with the Scheduling option, you can create your desired sequence, like so:

  • Promotional
  • Curated
  • Promotional
  • Blogs From RSS
  • Promotional
  • Quotes, Questions, and Fun

Of course, the order doesn’t have to be the one abovementioned. The point is you can add a category multiple times to the sequence. Then, the sequence will be posted when scheduled in, using the “Next in Category Sequence” Category.

You can add a “Next in Category Sequence” Category in your Schedule Overview or Individual Schedule Setup, by adding a new posting time and selecting it in the Category drop-down menu.

Once you’ve scheduled it, your selected content categories will be posted in that time slot, in the order you’ve created. So, for instance, if you scheduled this post for Fridays, at 3:30 PM, it will post the next category in the created sequence, each Friday (1st Friday - Curated, 2nd Friday Promotional and so on). If you have included multiple posting times with “Next in category sequence”, your selected categories will be posted, as per sequence, in the dedicated time slots, rotating them one after the other. If there’s no available post in one category, we’ll try to find one in the next category in your category sequence.

Once every category in your sequence has been posted, the cycle will begin again.
